National Art Gallery

Lovely morning with James and Linc (the baby) at the Art Gallery. I wasn't allowed to take photos :( so just took some notes on the most interesting points.

Inspiration points:

  • green fish platter - art deco - I loved the edge it was very fluid and seamlessly became part of the design without taking over.
  • monet's waterlillies - i know it's been done a million times over but I had an idea about painting the background fabric and bunching threads on the surface to be part of the lillies - needs some thought.
  • a beautiful impressionist streetscene - very fluid lines and shapes which could easily translate - perhaps I should begin looking at modern estates and cities for streets which could translate as well into designs?

Off to prepare for NYE!
