Found the best site for info on free motion quilting - Free Motion Quilting Blog
They aimed to come up with 365 different designs, but they seem to have created a whole database of ideas. They also have a little video tutorial for each design, as well as pictures of the back, suggested uses, etc. Brilliant!!!
The machine used in the videos looks amazing, I'm really looking forward to getting my new machine, hopefully in another week or so from Brother. I'm undecided yet about whether or not to buy a quilting frame to go with it, I'd really like one but they are definately not cheap. I've also been told they can be difficult to use if you don't have a machine with a long arm.
On another note, I've started picking up ideas for the Canberra Centenary Quilt for the Canberra Show next year. I'm leaning towards the War Memorial, it's one of the first places that springs to mind for me when I think of Canberra, and one of the places I know I will always return to. I'm really hoping to get ideas from others as well, about what bits of Canberra they like best!
