Contextart Forum and AQC Challenge Gallery

The forum was this weekend (I've just got back to Canberra) and it was amazing!!! I had no idea it was such a huge event with so many people - it was inspiring to be able to be a part of it.

The workshop with Janet Crowe was great, I went in thinking I knew how to felt but really with no idea at all and came away from the class with bit more ability and a ton of ideas. The other ladies were really lovely, and they all had so much skill - I'm very grateful they were happy to pass it on! One of the ladies who joined us on Saturday was Anita Larkin, her work is beautiful and so precise - she takes such care with her work.

You can see Janets' work here: www.janetlcrowe.com and Anitas' work here: www.anitalarkin.com

I also got to catch up with my amazing friend and spend some time with her little boy - I slept at her Mum's place last night and it felt a bit like being 12 again, sleeping in bunk beds and talking until midnight :)

On another note, the AQC has published a gallery of the finalist quilts for the challenge this year - you can see it here: http://www.aqc.com.au/Melbourne2013/aqc-challenge/ There are so many amazing quilts, I feel quite in awe of them all - I can't wait til I can get to see them in real life.
