Anzac Quilts - backgrounds again

I had another day to work on the backgrounds today since it's uni study break - I actually got quite a bit done, I did all the brown and blue sections, I just have some more grey bits and the greens to go. I was a bit worried about lunch time when it became apparent that the colours are staying much more subdued than they were in my head. I'm actually happy with the colours, they're subtle and soft and remind me a bit of sepia or hand painted photos. I will probably need to tone down some of the fabric for the panels to match, but it's probably easier to do that than it would be to make the panels much darker or brighter.

This is the 5th background, it's the soldier with the crosses (they're both going to be appliquéd on later).

This is part of the Cove background (background #2) with the beach in the foreground and the pier will be appliquéd later.

Lots more work to do! I'm hoping I will be able to finish the backgrounds by the end of next week.
